Texas Comptroller Resign Petition!

Texans do not have the right to recall state officials (only city officials).  We can, however, ask them to resign.  When you sign this petition, we promise not to share your personal information with anyone, especially the Comptroller.  In the midst of record drought and record fires, the legislature cut 911 services by $36 million. That’s just a little more than just 1 of the 10 payments the Comptroller wants to give to the abusive taxpayer giveaway to Formula 1 racing billionaires.

Linda Curtis of Independent Texans said, “Combs has a lot of nerve pushing the F1 deal on the heels of the largest data breach in Texas history involving 3.5 million Texans, for which she is responsible.  Without the right to recall, voters can only demand she resign.”

Whereas, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has violated the trust of Texas taxpayers by presiding over the worst personal data breach in Texas history, endangering 3.5 million Texans' privacy, and

Whereas, the Comptroller continues to push a plan to grant $250M in taxpayer subsidies for Formula 1 racing, while taxpayers face forever rising property taxes, utility rate hikes and job cuts, and

Whereas, the Texas legislature, in the midst of record drought and record fires, cut 911 emergency services by $36 million, which is a little more than the first payment the Comptroller plans to give the billionaires at Formula 1 racing, and

Whereas, Texas voters do not have the right to recall state officials,

Therefore, we the undersigned Texas voters, hereby call on the Comptroller to resign.
